We are pleased to announce the establishment of the diaspora organization "World of Diaspora," founded in the Kingdom of the Netherlands by Lali Butbaya, Isolda Kvitsian, and Noubila Vainau—all three originally from Abkhazia, Georgia.
As Ms. Lali Butbaya shared with Interpressnews, the organization is dedicated to addressing issues related to migration and emigration. It also aims to implement cultural and educational projects in the Netherlands, Georgia, and other countries.
A key focus of the organization will be Abkhazia and the region known as Tskhinvali. "Ethnic Abkhazians and Ossetians, like many others, face common challenges here in emigration," Ms. Butbaya said. "We share a European framework, and our common language is public diplomacy. What has been damaged by high-level politics, we believe, can be repaired by ordinary citizens working together. Our ultimate goal is to collaborate with organizations worldwide that are engaged in conflict resolution processes. With collective efforts, it will be easier to achieve the results we seek."
Co-founder Isolda Kvitsian emphasized the shared commitment to peace and conflict resolution. "We all agree on one thing—the conflict must be resolved. It deeply affects both Georgians and Abkhazians. We believe that love and mutual respect unite Georgians, Ossetians, and Abkhazians. What the war of the 1990s damaged, it is now up to civil society to heal. Through the 'World of Diaspora,' we aim to unite the global diaspora and contribute to the peaceful resolution of conflicts," Ms. Kvitsian stated.
The "World of Diaspora" organization seeks to bring together communities worldwide in the pursuit of peace, understanding, and the promotion of cultural exchange. Through collaborative efforts, it hopes to pave the way for a better future for all affected by past conflicts.
We look forward to your support and engagement in this meaningful initiative.
