Through the initiative of our Association’s President, Luka Gurtskaia, “Road to Home” is preparing a series of events aimed at connecting young people and raising awareness of the importance of youth engagement in peacebuilding, particularly in Georgia’s territories occupied by Russia.
Over the next eight months, we plan to hold three events: Portraits of Abkhazia: Voices from History , Russian Disinformation in Conflict: Lessons from Georgia and Ukraine, and Football for Peace: Youth Engagement through Sport. These events will bring together young people with some of the key figures of Georgia’s modern history, including signatories of the Act of Reestablishment of Independence of April 9, 1991, as well as veterans of the Georgian–Russian war in Abkhazia.
Through these meetings, young participants will have the opportunity to hear directly from those who helped shape Georgia’s modern history, learn from their experiences and perspectives, and feel encouraged to take an active role in peacebuilding.
