About Us

About Road to Home

Empowering displaced communities. Preserving heritage. Building futures.

Road to Home is a Georgian civil society organization led by displaced persons from Georgia. We turn displacement into leadership and action.

Since our founding, we’ve supported more than 5,000 displaced Georgians, helping them gain skills, confidence, and platforms to advocate for their rights, preserve their culture, and shape the future of Georgia.

What We Do

Conduct research that drives change

We lead nationwide assessments on the living conditions of internally displaced persons (IDPs) across Georgia.
Our reports inform national policy on housing, education, and social services—ensuring decisions are rooted in lived experience and measurable evidence.

Empower youth leadership

Through leadership workshops, cultural and educational camps, and mentoring programs, we prepare young IDPs to represent their communities globally.
Our youth have participated in international forums, and global youth summits, raising awareness about displacement, identity, and cultural heritage.

Protect cultural heritage and human rights

In partnership with organizations such as the OSCE Mission in Georgia, Amnesty International, and local authorities, we document evidence of:

  • Cultural vandalism and illicit artifact removal from occupied territories
  • Human rights violations impacting displaced communities, including restrictions on property, education, and freedom of movement

This verified data is shared with international mechanisms to promote accountability and protect the cultural and human legacy of Georgia.

Why It Matters

Displacement is not the end of belonging. It is the beginning of resilience.

By centering the voices of displaced people, we help transform exclusion into empowerment, and heritage into a foundation for the future.

Our Vision

Our vision is a Georgia where displaced people are active contributors to national life, where their experiences, culture, and leadership help shape a more inclusive and resilient country for everyone.
