Mr. Luka Gurtskaia is a Human Rights Advocate and Refugee Support Specialist with expertise in crisis response, policy reform, and humanitarian aid. He currently serves as the Refugee Program Director at Road to Home International Association, where he designs and implements social integration programs for Ukrainian refugees and Georgian IDPs while coordinating emergency aid efforts.
Before this, he was the Co-Founder and Director at the European Affairs Institute (2022 – 2023), leading initiatives to foster discussions on global policy, diplomacy, and youth engagement. Previously, he served as an Intern at the State Ministry for Reconciliation and Civil Equality of Georgia (2019 – 2020), where he collaborated with international organizations, including the Red Cross and UNHCR, to improve refugee assistance programs and policy development.
Recognized with awards for public diplomacy, reconciliation efforts, and human rights advocacy, he remains committed to defending democratic values, combating disinformation, and supporting displaced communities worldwide.
